Composite or uPVC - what is the difference?
uPVC doors have been available for over twenty years. They are a tried and tested technology and remain a popular choice for UK households.
The lightweight construction, wide range of designs, with glass or solid inserts, and competitive pricing make uPVC an excellent choice for French, sliding, and back doors.
uPVC doors are constructed with a polystyrene core for insulation and offer superior performance with wind and rain resistance when compared to traditional timber doors.
uPVC is most commonly supplied in white and comes in a range of styles and configurations. uPVC is a low maintenance, light weight front or back door at an affordable price.
Composite doors are relatively new to the market and are fast becoming the preferred choice for front doors. Made with a solid timber core and covered in a glass reinforced (GRP) skin. They offer superior security, weather resistance and Insulation properties compared with uPVC doors.
Composite doors are slightly thicker and heavier and can be constructed with a wood grain affect finish. The GRP skin means that whatever colour you choose from our range, it will remain bright, scuff and scratch free for many years.
