How does being a local Portland company make Alpha Windows different from other companies?

The owner, Bryan Hallett, is a lifelong Portlander. He understands that the weather on Portland requires the best quality products to withstand the sea air and strong easterlies.

Alpha Windows use the highest specification products, right from the anti rust brick/concrete screws that secure the door and window frames, to the top specification frames and glass from leading suppliers - Planitherm, Pilkington, VEKA, and Hurst.

Why do you offer both double and triple glazing?

Our double glazing glass is A-rated and exceeds all current building regulations. Although double glazing still remains a popular choice for most customers we have found that there is a growing move towards triple glazing.

Triple glazed units are up to 40% more thermally efficient than double glazed units, helping to reduce your energy bills and carbon emissions. With triple glazing, homes are able to stay warmer for longer and you can expect fewer cold spots and drafts near windows. The extra pane of glass provides a security benefit too.

What happens after I request a visit from Alpha Windows?

Our sales person will make an appointment to visit you at your home. We'll discuss your requirements and leave a range of brochures for you to review.

We are a local, family run company that trades on our name and customer recommendations. We pride ourselves on offering the highest quality products and complete customer satisfaction.

How long does the Alpha Windows Guarantee last?

We are proud to issue a 10 year insurance backed guarantee with all of our Windows, Doors and Conservatories through the Glass & Glazing Federation Insurance scheme.

What is FENSA?

FENSA (Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme) enables Alpha Windows to install replacement windows and doors to self-certify compliance under these Building Regulations without the need for a separate assessment from Building Control.
